Modi did not spare current T20 league chief Rajeev Shukla or BCCI vice-president Arun Jaitley either. “Now Shukla, Jaitley trying to play musical chair - axis of evil. Having sheepish looks on their face. But they are original backstabbers,” said one of his tweets, soon after the BCCI’s top bosses presented a united front in Kolkata.

“The BCCI committee has become a rubber stamp of Srini. Them continuing to supporting him shows how Srini rules,” Modi ranted. “Few good assoc but majority running state assoc have their hands in their pocket - thus total support to Srini. Time will show I am right.”

“Ironical, a real owner enters ground with family in Mumbai – SRK – he is banned for five years from Wankhede. But CSK owner – now told an enthusiast can be bidding for players, in dugout, in team, dressing room, lifts trophy – bets, hangs with fixers, gets away scot free. Yeh hai state of BCCI and ICC. God only can save cricket now. Fixing all around.”

When asked if he was following the match, he tweeted: “What match. Fixers team. Not for me.”

“Senior members including BCCI secretary refer to Srinivasan as sir. This is how we run cricket. Want Sanjay Jagdale to refute this if he has guts.”

Modi wants the owners to take over the T20 league. “Owners should take over and run and protect IPL. Band of thieves – the total support team – fearing their future if this were to happen. So band of crooks will band together. Sad what a great institution has been reduced to.”
