LeT terrorist killed in encounter in Jammu

Another one was arrested and a large amount of weapons and ammunition was recovered by the security forces.

One Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was killed and another one was arrested in clashes with security forces in Doda district on Thursday, official sources said.

Acting on specific information, troops launched an operation in Tawai Changa area in Gandoh belt of Doda district to track them down,they said.

The terrorist killed in the encounter has been identified as Noor Rehman and the one arrested as Tanvir.

The recoveries from the slain militant included one AK rifle, one pistol, two grenades, two magazines, they said, adding that the arrested terrorist was a Special Police Officer (SPO) who had deserted police post in Doda and joined militancy in 2005.

Troops also busted two hideouts in Bahadad in Kishtwar and Parli Jandi in Udhampur areas and recovered three radio sets, 10 Chinese grenades, one magazine, 153 rounds, one SLR, one pistol,one stove and two IEDs, they said.
