Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) has announced that the second edition of this prestigious event would be held from October 31 to November 4 at the National Centre for the Performing Arts.

The decision was taken yesterday following suggestions from members of the LFW Advisory Board consisting of representatives from key stakeholders of the fashion industry, as well as participating designers and buyers for the inaugural Lakme Fashion Week which completed a successful debut last week. LFW is a joint initiative between Lakme and IMG.

Lakme Lever vice president Anil Chopra said, "We are extremely pleased to announce the second edition of Lakme Fashion Week. The inaugural LFW was a great success on all aspects. We are happy to hold this premier event once again in Mumbai and at the NCPA, which has proven to be a great venue for a large-scale and high profile event like LFW."

IMG-TWI South Asia managing director and IMG senior vice president Ravi Krishnan said, "The dates for Lakme Fashion Week Spring/Summer have been finalised taking into account the domestic and international fashion calendar. The inaugural LFW saw an unprecedented gathering of national and international buyers and media. Their active involvement helped to take the event to great heights. The new dates have been aligned to attract even more participation from the domestic and global fraternity."

The inaugural Lakme Fashion Week was held from March 28 to April one at the NCPA. The event had 22 fashion shows spread over five days. The participating designers showcased their latest collections.

Lakme Fashion Week included shows by 30 designers as well as exhibition stalls, business seminars and workshops. The designers showcased their collections before an unprecedented gathering of national and international buyers and media.
