HE HAS set an example for thousands of unemployed youths who think this city has no business potential.

Forty-year-old Brajesh Chandra Mishra has proved that even in this era of high unemployment rate and tough competitions if there is a will then you can accomplish your goal. Brajesh is the LIC's star agent--with an income exceeding Rs 25 lakh in 2005-06.
Notably, very few people know that he has brought laurels for the city for the eighth time for being selected this year’ss Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)- a US-based millionaire agent club.
He had returned from MDRT conference held in Bangkok last month.
Elucidating the MDRT, Brajesh pointed out that it is the premier association of financial professionals.
Founded in 1927, MDRT provides its members with resources to improve their technical knowledge, sales and client service while maintaining a culture of high ethical standards. The mission is to be a valued, member-driven international network of leading insurance and investment financial services professionals who serve their clients by exemplary performance and the highest standards of ethics, knowledge, service and productivity.
"The biggest benefit of MDRT is to create professionalism so that one learns to run his practice like a business and also learns as to how to give the needed attention towards all areas of his life. I have been invited to attend the MDRT annual meeting from June 11–14, 2006 in San Diego, California.
The annual meeting is known throughout the financial services industry as the best of its kind held anywhere in the world. This meeting's programming will help me to do that by providing educational sessions, motivating presentations and networking opportunities with more than 6,000 colleagues. I am ready to reap advantage of this opportunity and accept the challenge to reach to a higher level of performance — both professionally and personally".
Referring about current scenario in India after the deregulation of insurance business, the LIC star agent who earlier started practice at Allahabad High Court before coming to this field said that the insurance industry has been thrown open to competition in the last four years. "A number of big insurance companies of the world have entered the Indian insurance market in joint venture with one or other domestic business group. The strength of LIC lies in its brand and image. In India LIC is often a synonym for insurance. If a person takes an insurance policy, whether it be a life insurance policy or vehicle, scooter or motor car insurance policy, he says that he has taken an LIC policy.
This shows that the name of LIC has entered the psyche and the mind of every Indian".
Laying emphasis on ideal environment conducive for life insurance business to flourish, Brajesh said that "In today's situation the life expectancy of the people is getting longer and people are able to lead fairly comfortable lives. In India the inflation rate is also low. The people look at life insurance to take care of future contingencies. Any life insurance company has to take care of the risk factor and that if people have invested money, they must get fair return on it. In America and Europe, where virtually everybody who has got life insurance is taken care of either by state or by some other company, the greater market is for pensions rather then for conventional life insurance policies."
His ultimate goal is to become the top most insurance agent of the country within a stipulated time. "I am the first agent who brought LIC, Allahabad division in MDRT category for seven consecutive times since 1996", said Brajesh.
