Lily Allen and Perez Hilton have locked themselves in a bitter verbal battle on the popular social-networking website Twitter.

While Allen publicly dubbed the gossip blogger as a "little parasite" and a "bitter lonely old queen", Hilton, who has made a living out of items about musicians, actors and celebrities, hit back with a “big fat c***”.

The Telegraph reported that the turf began when Hilton urged other members to convince the singer to let him feature in her new music video.

The argument ‘progressed’ as follows:

Allen: oh, I''m sorry, we''ve already cast the jealous and bitter lonely old queen role. Next time eh?
Hilton: Jealous of who? David Beckham, maybe. And if I wanted to be a f***** up Brit, I''d rather be Amy Winehouse – whose got talent.
