State president of the party and former MP, Shashi Prakash in a statement said that expulsion of the three office bearers was carried out at the behest of party chief Ram Vilas Paswan, who strongly objected to the incident. “Such acts of vandalism are against party policies and action will be taken against any person violating them,” he added.
Prakash further said that the party was trying to identify other persons, who were reportedly involved in the shameful act as, Kaif was a dedicated member of the Indian team. “Similar action will be taken against those whose involvement is established,” he said.
City sportspersons and citizens had reacted sharply to the attack on Kaif’s house, after India put up a poor show against host South Africa. Kaif’s father, who too was upset over the incident, had reportedly made some remarks and said that he would shift to Noida.
Later, the DM and the SSP visited him at his residence and oversaw the security arrangements. They also asked him to reconsider his decision of shifting to Noida.
