The commercial hoardings and glow signboards on these buildings are creating a loss of revenue to the LMC, said additional municipal commissioner Santosh Kumar. “How can the building owners allow placement of hoardings without our permission? They are violating LMC norms. If they don’t remove these hoardings then action would be taken against them,” he said.

The LMC has demanded full details of the hoardings, glow sign boards, so that it could slap the tax and penalty for violating the LMC norms.

“We would not allow anyone to place hoardings, without the approval of LMC officials on the buildings especially after the incident of Love Lane,” said a highly-placed official on the condition of anonymity.
