Locals refuse to handover two army men

The local administration refused to hand over two army personnel charged with rape into judicial custody.

The local administration on Saturday refused to hand over two army personnel in judicial custody after their arrest on the charge of raping a girl at Kaike Pathar in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh on May 18.

Deputy Commissioner Hage Bhatt said a Brigadier approached him to handover the two army personnel of the 2nd Raj Rifles for court martial, but he advised him to apply to the court.

The two army men are in judicial custody and the medical report of the girl and the investigation report were yet to be submitted to the court, he said.
