Lokayukta chargesheets MTP official

THE SPECIAL Police Establishment (SPE) of Lokayukta on Monday presented a charge sheet against an MP Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) officer Yuvraj Pandole in the special court of Shravan Kumar Raghuvanshi for allegedly misappropriating an amount of Rs 10 lakh.

According to the prosecution, MLA from Mauganj (Indore) M P Verma had lodged a complaint against Pandole on March 28, 2003, accusing him of not depositing funds with the MPSTDC headquarters and using the same for personal ends.

During internal audit of the Corporation, amount available at Nagpur office of MPSTDC was found short by about Rs 10 lakh. When it was brought to the notice of the higher officials, Pandole deposited the amount with the MPSTDC.

The SPE, holding Pandole responsible for financial irregularity during his tenure at Nagpur, charge-sheeted him on Monday.
