Apropos of the report Mahatma’s grandson dead (June 14), it is surprising that Ramachandra Gandhi’s body was loaded onto a small truck to take him from the IIC to hospital for an autopsy.

Apropos of the report Mahatma’s grandson dead (June 14), it is surprising that Ramachandra Gandhi’s body was loaded onto a small truck to take him from the India International Centre to hospital for an autopsy. That he was the Mahatma’s grandson is one thing. He was also a noted writer, teacher and philosopher. It is shameful to think that we revere the Mahatma so much and yet Ramachandra Gandhi died alone in a room at the IIC with no one to care for him.
