Keeping up with the current international trends of rimless and steel frames with groovy coloured lenses, the watch brand Titan made its foray into the accessories market with the launch of their Fastrack eyewear collection, which is funky, stylish and affordable, at the Taj Mahal Hotel on Wednesday afternoon.

This new eyewear range is available in four distinct collections: Acid, Café, City Slik and Revv. “The difference between the four collections lies in their style and price. Acid is aimed at the youth, Café is for the young college students, City Slik is what most corporate people will like and Revv is a sporty range for the adventurous people,” explained Bijou Kurien, COO, Titan Industries.

Titan, that got into manufacturing premium watches 17 years back are also famous for their jewellery brand Tanishq that they launched seven years back. “The Indian eyewear market seems quite disorganised, where most of the people tend to buy cheap sunglasses from street vendors. And only a few can afford high-end international brands. So we decided to launch an eyewear brand that is stylish yet affordable, in this market that has potential,” said Kurien.
One got to see the country’s leading models walk the ramp at this launch.

Fashion designer Sabysachi’s Mukherjee’s discovery Sharan Misra (sporting a new hair do), Sampada Inamdar, Sapna Kumar (who has lost too much weight, to the extent of looking anorexic now), Indrani Dasgupta and Fleur Xavier sizzled on the ramp in funky colours in shades like amber, blues, greens and whites.
The Fastrack’s in-house team has designed most of these glares that are priced between Rs 695 to Rs 1,995. “Most of these shades have been crafted keeping in mind the Indian features,” Kurien pointed out.

So go ahead and get one that suits your face, and then you’ll be all set to face the summer sun in spunky style!
