Lupin foundation day celebrated

THE PEAREY Lal Gupta Lupin Human Welfare and Research Foundation celebrated its annual day here on April 4. The foundation has been working for rural development in select villages in Raisen, Vidisha and Rajgarh districts since 1996.

THE PEAREY Lal Gupta Lupin Human Welfare and Research Foundation celebrated its annual day here on April 4. The foundation has been working for rural development in select villages in Raisen, Vidisha and Rajgarh districts since 1996.

According to a release, Dr Ravinder Pastore, state chief of World Bank Project (MP-DPIP) was the chief guest at the function at Vrindavan Garden here.

Representatives of various village development committees, self-help groups, special invitees and representatives of other stakeholders in the foundation also attended the function.Foundation’s chief programme coordinator, Chugh, explained future plans of the organisation.

The focus of the foundation has been on reduction of rural poverty through an integrated approach involving rural entrepreneurship development, micro finance, appropriate rural technologies and skill development of concerned people.

According to the release, during 2005-06, over 4800 families residing in these villages have benefited from these development programmes. An amount of Rs 1.5 crores has been spent as grant in aid whereas Rs 68 lakhs have been given as loan under the micro credit programme.
