M'rashtra polls: Sena releases first list of 84 candidates

Forty-four sitting MLAs on Thursday figured in the first list of 84 candidates announced by Shiv Sena for the October 13 assembly polls.

The prominent MLAs to be renominated were Narayan Rane, Ramdas Kadam, Prabhakar More, Baban Gholap, Dr Jayprakash Mundada, according to the list published in the party's mouth-piece 'Saamna' on Thursday.

Former minister Ravindra Mane, MLA from Sangameshwar has been denied ticket and instead Subhash Bane has been fielded from the seat.

Kashinath Mengal was issued a ticket instead of Pandurang Gangad in Igatpuri while in Parbhani Tukaram Renge Patil was sidelined by the party with Sanjay Jadhav being issued a ticket by the party this year.

In Badnapur, Narayan Chavan found his name missing from the list with the ticket being given to Bhanudas Ghuge.

In Thane, the party has fielded Eknath Shinde following the death of MD Joshi. The widow of Sena leader Prakash Khedkar, Anusuya Khedkar has been selected to represent the party at the hustings from Nanded constituency.
