Sir Paul McCartney has lost the first round of his increasingly bitter divorce battle with Heather Mills, as the ex-Beatle has been forced to pay the rent on Mills’ new home since the pair split.
Macca is to foot£2000 monthly bill for his estranged wife's pad near Regent's Park in London where she will live with their daughter Beatrice, three, after an agreement was made in court as the divorce proceedings trudge on, reports The Mirror.
The move comes after friends of 39-year-old Heather told how she has cut all ties with Sir Paul over his alleged refusal to reinstate her security after she got deaths threats from gangsters.
One pal said her rent agreement was "negotiated in court" and added: "Heather says Macca has to pay for their accommodation. She thinks the divorce will be settled within the year."
The pal went on: “She is absolutely furious and for her, it’s the final straw. She said she never, ever wants anything to do with him. When it comes to handing Bea over, the nanny or others take care of that.”
In other news, Heather has allegedly become increasingly friendly with ex-fiance Marcus Stapleton, who was one of 40 friends she invited on the ski trip to celebrate her birthday on Friday(12Jan07). She was engaged to the Hong-Kong-based executive in 1995.
