The Madhya Pradesh High Court has dismissed two bail applications of mining baron Sudhir Sharma, an accused in two criminal cases related to the professional examination borad (PEB) recruitment scam.

MP High Court on Thursday dismissed two bail applications of mining baron Sudhir Sharma, an accused in two criminal cases related to the MPPEB recruitment scam.

The court rejected the bail application with observation that "releasing the applicant on bail is not advisable at least till filing of the charge-sheet in the two criminal cases in which he is accused."

Sharma was booked under various sections of the IPC, the Information Technology Act and the MP Manayataprapt Pariksha Adhiniyam, 1937.

The state government counsel opposed the bail application with the argument that the role of the applicant in the commission of the two crimes is that of a racketeer and not of middleman or facilitator.
