Fansof the queen of pop, Madonna, will soon get to see her in a new role, that of an animated French cartoon character. The Hung Up singer has signed on to star in director Luc Besson’s bigscreen adaptation of his own fantasy children’s book, Arthur And The Minimoys, and will be lending her voice to the character of Princess Selenia.
The movie is based on a child’s quest to save the home of his grandmother (played by Mia Farrow) from being demolished by seeking out his grandfather’s treasure in the land of tiny Minimoys. Rapper Snoop Dogg has been roped in to lend his voice for the character of Max, while David Bowie has agreed to be the villainous Maltazard.
Former Miramax bosses, Bob and Harvey Weinstein, who have acquired the US rights to the cartoon, and will be releasing it through their newly for med Weinstein Company, said that they were thrilled to be bringing the adventure story to the big screen.
