The special public prosecutor in the Pramod Mahajan murder case, Shrikant Bhatt, has written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Secretary DK Shankaran expressing dissatisfaction over probe into the case, prosecution sources said on Thursday.

Bhatt said that he had indeed written such a letter, but refused to talk about its contents.

On the last two occasions, Bhatt did not appear in the case. Later he explained that this was because of health reasons.

Bhatt said he was suffering from spondilytis and was undergoing treatment.
He has criticised police investigation pointing out discrepancies and making some suggestions on the probe.

Police officers involved in the probe are upset over Bhatt's stand and maintain that the probe was going on in a fair manner, sources said.

Even the court had on Wednesday observed that it was prima facie satisfied with investigation carried out so far, police sources pointed out.
