Major plan to beautify Maharaj Bada

THE GOVERNMENT agencies and the business community have agreed in principle on a 21-point special action plan to give a new look to Maharaj Bada. District Collector Rakesh Shrivastava and corporator Sudhir Gupta also attended the meeting.

THE GOVERNMENT agencies and the business community have agreed in principle on a 21-point special action plan to give a new look to Maharaj Bada. District Collector Rakesh Shrivastava and corporator Sudhir Gupta also attended the meeting.

The meeting agreed that the old and new buildings at Maharaj Bada should be painted in a distinctive colour. The decision on the colour would be taken later. For the renovation of Maharaj Bada, the services of specialist architect of Indore are being taken. The entire action plan is stated to have been presented by the corporator Sudhir Gupta.

The agreement in principle was reached on the historic buildings of Post Office, Municipal Corporation building, Town Hall, State Bank of India building, Government building and Victoria Market building.

No construction that can adversely affect the beautification of these buildings would be allowed at Maharaj Bada. The specialist architect of Indore is Dharkar. Thirty benches of old style in the Maharaj Bada Park would also be repaired.
