A man has been killed in the city, allegedly by his son-in-law after he had a heated argument with him, police said on Monday.

Bachan Lal, resident of Shiv Nagar, was allegedly killed by Desraj on Sunday evening after a fierce argument, they said.

The argument broke out over reported violence inflicted by Desraj on his wife Sunita, police said.

Desraj became agitated and he attacked his father-in-law with a utensil on his forehead twice, injuring Bachan Lal seriously. Lal was rushed to the local civil hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Desraj fled after the incident and efforts were on to arrest him, they said.
