Man murdered after altercation
A MAN was stabbed to death during a drinking session at his house in Rachna Nagar slums on Thursday night. The police later arrested the accused.

The deceased, Vishwajit, 35, was stabbed in the stomach by his ‘friend’ Manoj, 27, who lives in the deceased’s neighbourhood, said Govindpura Station Officer (SO) Rajkumar Sharma.
Manoj and Vishwajit were drinking in the latter’s house in the night when they had an altercation. Manoj left for his house and returned with a knife a few minutes later. He stabbed Vishwajit.
The injured person was taken to hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. Vishwajit worked as peon with the Nazul office.
The trouble begun when Vishwajit charged Manoj of abusing the former’s wife. This had apparently provoked the latter, who then stabbed the Vishwajit to death. Manoj, who was later arrested, is a labourer. The deceased is survived by wife and four children. The accused is also a relative of the deceased. The Govindpura police are interrogating the accused.
