Telangana man sets self on fire after employer denies him leave

A 30-year-old man working at a petrol pump in a village in Nalgonda, Telangana on Thursday allegedly tried to commit suicide after he was refused leave by his employer, police said.

Tripathi Masthan poured petrol over himself and then set himself afire at Avanthipuram village under Miryalaguda mandal in the district.

He had apparently asked his employer for leave for the past three days. Masthan sustained about 90% burns and was admitted to the district government hospital.

Miryalaguda rural sub-inspector Sardhar Naik said a case has been filed in this regard and further investigation is on into the incident.
