Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be in the city on October 6 in view of the coming Maharashtra Assembly polls, AICC General Secretary Margaret Alva said in Mumbai on Saturday.

Singh will meet Congress workers, elected representatives and also interact with representatives of trade and industry, media, NGOs and prominent social activists, during his daylong stay in Mumbai, Alva told reporters.
Sonia to start campaign from October 4: Congress president Sonia Gandhi would start her campaign in the state by addressing a rally in Pauni in Bhandara district on October 4.
The Congress president would address seven public rallies in Vidarbha, Marathwada and North Maharashtra regions during the first phase of the tour spread over two days, Alva said.
She will also address a joint public meeting with NCP chief Sharad Pawar at Nashik on October 5.
In the second phase, schedule for which has not been finalised yet, Gandhi will tour Konkan and Western Maharashtra and the state capital, Alva said.
