Mantralaya drub Arera Veteran in Sanchi tourney

MANTRALAYA TODAY registered second win in the Sanchi Trophy Cricket Tournament being organised at Old Campion Grounds. Playing against Arera Veteran, the team of Mantralaya made the biggest upset of the tournament on the second day. Studded with the players like Harsh Pandey, Dilip Awasthi, Shanti Jain, Sushil Singh, Arera Veteran failed to stand against Mantralaya team.

MANTRALAYA TODAY registered second win in the Sanchi Trophy Cricket Tournament being organised at Old Campion Grounds. Playing against Arera Veteran, the team of Mantralaya made the biggest upset of the tournament on the second day. Studded with the players like Harsh Pandey, Dilip Awasthi, Shanti Jain, Sushil Singh, Arera Veteran failed to stand against Mantralaya team.

The decision of batting first after winning the toss by skipper of Mantralaya Rajkumar went in the team’s favour. The quickfire 41 off 43 deliveries by Prakash helped Mantralaya in setting 150 runs target in 25 overs with the run rate of six runs per over.

His innings included six and five boundaries. Nimish also played well by scoring important 35 runs. It was skipper Sushil Singh of Arera Veteran who managed to put breaks on the free flow batting of Mantralaya team by scalping five wickets with the economy of less then four runs per over economy. Mahesh Prajapati took two wickets.

Arera team that had a strong batting order stumbled against the disciplined bowling attack by Mantralaya. The team fell short of 14 runs in front of the home crowd. Shailesh Shukla and Manju scored 31 and 33 respectively. Virbhan with three wickets was the highest wicket taker for Mantralaya.

The second match of the day that was to be played between BSNL and MPSEB could not organised due to rain. The match will be played on Saturday. Food Corporation of India (FCI) manager RB Saxena was the chief guest of the first match.
