Maoists detonate bomb at Labour Court in Nepal even as the five agitating parties locked up local body offices across the country
Suspected Maoists detonated a powerful bomb at a Labour Court in Nepal today even as the five agitating parties in the kingdom locked up local body offices across the country as part of a fresh agitation aimed at restoring democratic rights of the people.

The rebels exploded the bomb at a Court at Sanugauchar in the outskirt of Kathmandu this morning ahead of their three-day general strike beginning tomorrow, police said.
The office building belonging to Attorney General Shushil Panta was partially damaged by the explosion. However, nobody was injured in the incident.
The incident comes a day after the rebels exploded a bomb at a garment factory in the outskirts of Nepalese capital, injuring a person and causing a loss of Rs one crore.
Meanwhile, over a dozen protestors were injured during clashes which ensued between party workers and the police as the former tried to lock up office premises of local bodies.
The police also arrested half a dozen workers of Nepal Tarun Dal, youth wing of Nepali Congress from Kathmandu.
Nepali Congress Kathmandu district president Tirtha Ram Dangol and Nepal Communist Party-UML standing committee member Amrit Bohara led the agitators who locked up the Kathmandu Municipality Corporation office at Baghdurbar in the capital.
The agitating parties, who are demanding formation of an all-party government and restoration of democratic rights, also locked up offices of district development committees and village development committees across the country to oppose the royal takeover of October 4, 2002.
