Two Maoist cadre, including a woman, in plainclothes came to 35-year-old Bhogi Ramesh's house and shot him dead from close range, police said.

The duo fled after committing the crime, they said, adding a massive combing operation was continuing to nab the ultras.

Senior police officials had rushed to the spot. The police were also investigating whether anyone close to the victim was involved in the incident.
