Maoists kill panchayat head in Bihar for being police informer

A village panchayat head was shot dead by suspected CPI(Maoist) rebels in Bihar’s Sheohar district, police said today.

A village panchayat head was shot dead by suspected CPI(Maoist) rebels in Bihar’s Sheohar district, police said on Thursday.

Neeraj Kumar Mukul (35), mukhiya of Rahua panchayat under Shyampur-Bhataha police station was dragged out of his house late last night and shot for allegedly being a police informer.

He died on the spot, sources said, adding efforts were on to apprehend the culprits.
