Pop-rockers Maroon5 West picked up the Best New Artist trophy at the 47th annual Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday.
The Los Angeles-based quintet beat out the widely favoured rapper Kanye West, as well as Los Lonely Boys, British soul singer Joss Stone and country artist and self-proclaimed "Redneck Woman" Gretchen Wilson.
