Meeting of District Education Officers to be held tomorrow
WHILE ON one hand the Director of Public Education would hold a meeting of officers from the education department of the division in the City, on the other Block Education Officers (BEO) from Ujjain division would inspect schools in the district.

As per the guidelines of the State Government and directives of the Education Department, the Director of Public Education would hold a meeting of District Education Officers (DEO) from the division at the Residency Kothi on February 7.
The Director would discuss examination results, resolving of pension-related matters, granting employment on compassionate grounds, distribution of cycles to girl students and other matters with the DEOs of Dhar, Jhabua, Barwani, Khargone, Indore, Khandwa and Burhanpur.
Meanwhile, following another directive of the State Government 10 BEOs from Ujjain division would visit schools in the district and ascertain whether the measures introduced by State Government to improve school examination results were being implemented or not.
The special classes being held in the subjects of mathematics, science and English would also be inspected. The BEOS of Indore division would likewise visit schools in Ujjain division.
According to School Education Department Principal Secretary Lakshyadhari Singh Baghel, the government had brought in certain reforms and tightened the system so as to improve the working in the schools and wished to learn whether they were being followed to the letter at the grassroots level and the above said exercises formed a part of the same fact finding mission.
However, skeptics say that the measures coming 30 days before the examination would not be enough to change the system and bring about a qualitative change as desired by the government within this short duration.
