A MEETING to review preparations for the Republic Day celebrations was held under the chairmanship of the chief secretary Rakesh Sahni at Mantralaya on Sunday.

The state-level Republic Day programme will be held at Lal Parade ground, Bhopal, in which the Governor Balram Jakhar would unfurl the National flag and take salute.

The Police, NCC, Home Guard, Special Armed Force, ex-servicemen, members of Scouts and Guides, CISF, IAF, RAF jawans and members of women’s wing will participate in the parade.

After the parade, tableaux would be taken out by various departments of the state and Union government. Besides, tribal dance and traditional folk dance would be another attractions.

School students will present a cultural programme at the Lal Parade ground on the eve of Republic Day programme. Running trophies will be presented to the best contingent squad, best tableau, best dance team and the best performance in the children’s cultural programme. All the government buildings will be illuminated on the day.

The director general of police AR Pawar, principal secretaries, secretaries and other officers of all the government departments were present at the meeting.
