Unidentified militants hurled a powerful grenade at the house of a government contractor in Imphal west district of Manipur but it failed to explode, police said.

Unidentified militants hurled a powerful grenade at the house of a government contractor in Imphal west district of Manipur but it failed to explode, police said on Saturday.

The contractor and his family were present at the time of the incident that took place at Singjamei Liwas area on Friday.

The motive behind it was not yet known, the police added.
