THE MADHYA Pradesh State Minorities’ Commission has written a letter to IG Bhopal Range Sanjeev Kumar Singh seeking an inquiry into the killing of three youths belonging to the City in Ichhawar recently.
The Commission Chairman Anwar Mohammad Khan in a letter has cited the reports that Masood, Urooj and Zahid, residents of Jehangirabad, had gone to their native village Kolhukhedi in Ichhawar (Sehore) where they were confined for several hours and though police had got air of the confinement, no action was taken and the three youths were later killed in cold blood.
Two of the main accused are still absconding. The report submitted by Zafar Alam and Wahid Khan with the Commission alleges that local police did not reach the spot on time and the bodies remained lying there for several hours. Further, the role of local police remains under suspicion as enough time was given to the attackers to tamper with evidences and let the accused flee after the crime, says the report.
On the basis of this report and photographs submitted along with it, the Commission has noted that the youths were tortured and brutally murdered apparently as a result of a planned strategy. The Commission has held that the role of local police is not beyond suspicion.
The Commission has decided to investigate case and asked Range IG to himself inquire the issue besides submitting a report on the entire case and the role of the Ichhawar police by May 5. Also, Commission has urged the IG to take a decision on a CID inquiry of the killings.
