Ram Krishna Srivastava till now had held this post. Sharad Upadhya son of veteran Congressman Shyam Surat Upadhya has been made vice-president DCC while student leader Kripa Shankar Upadhya, has been nominated for the post of senior vice-president City Congress Committee.

All the four nominated persons have been working with Ashok Bajpai since long and carry his approval.

Since Rahul Gandhi started taking interest in the State affairs, his first step has been to revamp the Congress,” said Bajpai while talking to Hindustan Times.

He said, he was appointed as the City Congress president by late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and since then he had been instrumental in building Congress base in the district.

Several senior Congress leaders including Ram Yagya Dwivedi, Fuzail Hashmi and others have congratulated the new nominees.
