Suspecting infidelity, a 35-year-old Indirapuram resident allegedly killed his wife with the help of a friend on Wednesday and later dumped her body in a pit in a green-belt area near Vasundhara in Ghaziabad.

However, the mobile phone of one of the accused slipped out of his pocket while they were allegedly dumping the body and was later tracked by the police who managed to arrest the duo on Friday from Indirapuram.

Sanjay Kumar, who runs a local transport business, had a love marriage with the 28-year-old victim about seven years ago. On August 14, Kumar took his family, along with his friend Raju, to Haridwar in a hired Santro car. While they were returning on August 15, the two men allegedly strangled the victim and later dumped her body.
