"The body was recovered from Nallah Tujar under the jurisdiction of the Bomai Sopore this morning," said Srinagar-based spokesman.

Quoting the victim's father, the police said Mir went missing on Saturday evening. "When Mir did not return to his home last evening, they started searching for him," added the spokesman.

The police's preliminary examination of the body revealed that it had a small scratch on the head.

"Some empty syringe and pain killer injections have been found near the body," said the spokesman. Further investigation is on.
