Irked over frequent power cuts and shortage of drinking water, a mob staged a chakka jam on Bhind-Itawa road and indulged in stone-throwing at the collector's house here today.

Following the incident, the collector Satish Mishra promulgated prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC in the town.

After staging chakka jam, the mob pelted stones and damaged about one dozen vehicles before reaching collector's house, where the miscreants smashed glasspanes, police said.
