Moderate quake hits Arunachal

An earthquake of moderate intensity shook the India-Bhutan border region in Arunachal Pradesh.

An earthquake of moderate intensity shook the India-Bhutan border region in Arunachal Pradesh early on Friday morning, the Meteorological Department said.

The quake, which occurred at 1.35 am, measured 5.7 on the Richter scale.

It was epicentred at 27.2 degree north latitude and 92.0 degree east longitude, the MeT department said.

The temblor was also felt in neighbouring states of Assam and Meghalaya. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property.
