In an effort to decongest capital Shimla, the Himachal Pradesh government has decided to buy 75 modern minibuses soon.

"The Union government has agreed to sanction Rs 6.75 crore for purchasing a fleet of 75 minibuses for the state capital soon," State Transport Minister Kishan Kapoor said on Saturday.
"An amount of Rs 3.04 crore has been received as the first installment from the Central government for the purpose," he said in a statement.
He added that the state government has decided to purchase 325 modern buses so that the people of the state could be comfortable during travelling.
A proposal had been sent in February last year for the purchase of 75 minibuses for Shimla town, he said, adding these buses would be developed on the model of deluxe buses.
He also hoped that people may prefer these comfortable buses to their private vehicles which could reduce traffic congestion in the city.
