Special security teams comprising personnel from Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir police Monday carried out a security drill at the hilltop shrine in Reasi district of Jammu region.
Sources in the state security on Tuesday said "Modi would arrive in a special private plane at the Udhampur airfield of the Indian Air Force."
"From Udhampur, Modi is scheduled to take a helicopter to reach the base camp of the shrine around 8.30 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday). "From the base camp in Katra, the BJP leader will trek up to the shrine," a senior officer of the state security said in Jammu.
BJP sources said Modi would then travel by helicopter to Hira Nagar town in Kathua district of Jammu region from where he would formally launch the party's election campaign.
Thereafter, Modi would take the chopper to reach the Udhampur airfield from where he would return to Delhi Wednesday afternoon.
