More pension for old destitute

FM tried to bring some cheer into the homes of poor and old people by raising the pension offered to them to Rs 200 per month.

Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday tried to bring some cheer into the homes of poor and old people by raising the pension offered to them from Rs 75 per month to Rs 200.

This would be applicable to people above 75 years of age, Chidambaram said while presenting the budget for 2006-07 fiscal.
