Campaigning for the upcoming urban bodies polls has picked up pace with chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan holding public meetings at Neemuch, Khachrod, Agar Malwa and Badnagar on Monday.
Speaking at a public meeting at Neemuch, the CM said the BJP-ruled state government has laid down a road map for development of towns and cities in the last 10 years.
He said it is imperative for people to elect BJP candidates in urban bodies polls so that development can be ushered in effectively. He also said there would be no shortage of funds for development of towns and cities in the state.
During the meeting, the CM also said that employment opportunities would be created for youth so that they don't have to ask for employment and can provide employment instead. He also said there is a target for making 5 lakh houses for urban poor in MP. Further, he said illegal colonies would be legalized and infrastructure would be provided in them.
The CM attacked the Congress and said that the state government had provided Rs 90 crore for the development of Neemuch but the Congress-controlled municipal body did not utilise the money. The CM said the state government built a water supply system for Neemuch town instead.
On Tuesday, the CM would campaign in Khargone, Barwah, Sanawad and Betul. On November 19, he would campaign in Khajuraho, Chhatarpur, Naugaon, Maharajpur, Hatta and Begumganj.
