Nearly 15,500 people applied for going to Haj this year, but after the lottery drawn for the purpose by Haj Committee only 638 devotees were selected for the holy trip, against the quota of 3,240, Suhail said in a statement here today.

She had personally met Singh on the issue yesterday.

She said Singh assured her and the delegation that he will take up the issue with the concerned authorities for raising the Haj quota for Madhya Pradesh.

Congress leaders including Irshad Nagori, Mahesh Rajput and Dr Mansoor Sheikh were present on the occasion.
