Police have registered a case against unidentified persons in connection with the 35-year-old's murder.

Sidhraj Singh (18) - son of the deceased - told the police that when he returned from market on Friday he found his house bolted from outside, police said.

After he unbolted the door, he found his mother lying in a pool of blood with bullet injuries, he told police.

A profusely bleeding Preeti, daughter of former MLA of Panna, Veer Vikram Singh (Bhaiya Raja) was rushed to the hospital where she breathed last.

According to the post-mortem report, she sustained two bullet injuries from a 32 bore pistol.

Preeti was married to Giriraj Singh, who too died after sustaining bullet injuries at his house, seven years back. Till date, the police are unable to find out whether Giriraj committed suicide or was shot dead.

The police are suspecting that the two deaths may be connected.

Meanwhile, the mortal remains of Preeti were consigned to flames at her ancestral home at Umri village.
