?MP poultry products are safe?

THE NATIONAL Eggs Coordination Committee (NECC), Jabalpur, today announced that the State Government has permitted the Madhya Pradesh poultry farmers to sell birds and related products to other states. At the same time, the Jabalpur district administration is conducting random sampling in all the poultry farms.

Talking to presspersons, NECC Jabalpur senior vice-president Vishwanath Dubey said till today not a single case of avian influenza has been reported from MP and it is safe to consume chicken and poultry products. District Collector Sanjay Dubey, who was also present with Dubey, said 341 samples were sent for laboratory tests at Bhopal and none of them had been tested positive for bird flu.

He said the district administration is doing surprise inspections in all the poultry farms and is keeping hawk-like vigil on the birds' mortality.

The district Collector said as per the government instructions the birds or poultry products imported from Maharashtra and Gujarat are not allowed to be dumped in MP.
