About 150 youths have been invited to participate in the programme from around 15 districts of Malwa region. The main objective of the programme is to upgrade the knowledge of youth for AIDS prevention and control, to inform youth about the myths and fallacies related to HIV/AIDS and to develop a cadre of young information disseminators at the grassroots level with learn-through-fun method.

An MPVHA spokesman said that there are about 40 million people in the world living with AIDS, of which five million are Indians - that is one per cent of the adult population. The problem becomes more complicated when people lack accurate information, thus an awareness programme has been organised.
