Ansari, also an accused in the BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai murder case in 2005, was produced before Additional Sessions Judge Madhu Jain yesterday before the end of his 14 days police custody. The MLA was brought to the national capital from Agra Jail on May 15 on a production warrant issued by the court.
Delhi police's Special Cell had registered a case under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA)against Ansari, inter-state gangster Munna Bajrangi and others on November seven last year.
Interestingly, Bajrangi was arrested from Mumbai on October 29 last year. The court had allowed custodial interrogation of the legislator till today to enable the investigators to unearth the whole conspiracy relating to running of an alleged organised gang in the national capital.
