Mumbai blasts: B'desh denies involvement

Bangladesh dumps media reports that bombs used in the Mumbai serial blasts came from their country as laughable.

Bangladesh on Saturday dumped as "laughable" media reports that bombs used in the Mumbai serial blasts came from this country.

"You are all laughing ... It is laughable," State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfuzzaman Baber told reporters when asked to comment on reports that the bombs came from Bangladesh.

He added the claims are "nothing but ridiculous."

Baber said security was stepped up in Bangladesh following the Mumbai bombings and further alert was underway so that the security forces were not caught off guard.
