On the inconsequential last day, the Mumbai batsmen got some runs ahead of the crucial tie against Delhi in Mumbai from January 3. Resuming at the 119 for three, the visitors declared their second innings at 334 for 7. First innings' hero Ajinkya Rahane remained unconquered on 101 off 172 balls.

Rahane stitched an 85-run stand with Sayyed Abdulla for the fifth wicket. The latter made 51 before being stumped off Amit Mishra. Sahil Kukreja made 81 off 170 balls.
