Mumbai: Sanjay Nirupam booked for violating code of conduct

The cops booked Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam for violating the election code of conduct after he carried out a protest against PM Modi in Borivali on Thursday afternoon.

The Borivali police booked Congress member of Parliament (MP) Sanjay Nirupam for violating the election code of conduct after he carried out a protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Borivali (west) on Thursday afternoon.

According to the police, Nirupam carried out a protest on SV Road in Borivali (west) around 1.10 pm along with 40 other party workers. Nirupam carried out the protest against Prime Minister Modi and the BJP for 30 minutes despite the application to carry the protest was rejected, police said.

The police have booked him for violating code of conduct under relevant sections of model code of conduct and Maharashtra Police Act. No arrests have been made so far, police said.
