Television channels showed Shiv Sainiks holding banners and flags inside a small room where the Mekaal Hasan band was addressing a press conference.

The press conference was called to announce a joint venture with Indian musicians, reports said.

The Sainiks demanded that the group go back to Pakistan and threatened that they will not allow the band to perform in India.

Police were seen talking to the activists as members of the band huddled in a corner.
