Boots: Boots are here to stay for a long time. Loose slouchy Uggs, high stiletto boots, ankle length ones, thigh-high ones, heavy punk boots, you name them and they're in style. Experiment with colours this season — go wild with scarlet, mustard yellow, electric blue, aubergine, mint.

Capes and ponchos: Team your skinny jeans and boots with a cape or a woollen poncho. Binge on fringed woollen ponchos — they have a strong bohemian feel. Accentuate the look by choosing ponchos with large floral or geometric designs.
Cropped jackets and wide-legged trousers: This is the season's freshest look for office goers. Pick well-fitted cropped jackets and pair with wide-legged trousers. Neutral colours are in — good options are grey, beige, ivory, black, deep midnight blue, chocolate brown. Team with bright shoes, in red, yellow, inky blue, mint green, fiery orange, and bags in matching colours.
Tunics in solids: Team smart semi-formal fine wool tunics in neutral colours with bright stockings, scarves and mufflers. Opt for solid colours this season as opposed to the usual prints.
Peshawari pajamas with long kurta: This festive and bridal season be one step ahead in traditional wear with Peshawari pajamas teamed with long kurtas. The pajamas can be richly embroidered and the kurta should preferably be in a contrast complimenting colour. Designer and HT City columnist Nida Mahmood picks this season’s hottest style investments.
